Assessor Justus Friedlaender, in 1868 deputy consul (Viceconsul) in Alexandria, later (1871) Consul in Constantinople. Son of Joachim Daniel Friedländer (1800-1868), a brother of Julius Friedlaender (1813-1884), and of Mathilde, née Oppermann, (1810-1888). Died of injuries suffered during the Franco-Prussian War (participant of e.g. the battle of Saint Privat on 16 August 1870). Acquisition by the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1866. Lit.: J. H.
