	Economist, art collector, and donor. Objects formerly belonging to Richard von Kaufmann's collection were given to the Münzkabinett Berlin by his widow Marie (9 August 1860 - 22 June 1937). The first huge donation took place in 1918. Kaufmann's collection of coins was finally sold by his family via Leo Hamburger, Auction 89 in Frankfurt am Main in May 1929: Sammlung Geheimrat von Kaufmann: antike Münzen, Griechen, Römer, Barbaren. Versteigerung im Auftrag der Familie am Montag, den 27. Mai 1929 und folgende Tage.
