The collection of Mr Rode, a German tailor in Galatz (Galati in Rumania). Rode's collection of some 900 Greek and Roman coins were acquired via Prof. Petermann, who himself had inspected the coins in 1852, for the Royal Museums (i.e. Münzkabinett Berlin) in 1853.
