Diplomat and orientalist. Translator for the Prussian envoy in Istanbul from 1844. As of 1853 Prussian consul in Jerusalem. From 1867 to 1875 Consul general of the North German Federation, later of the German Empire in Belgrad. Rosen travelled together with Karl Heinrich Koch (1809-1879) of Jena in the Caucasus region in 1843 and 1844. Donation of coins to the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1854. Earlier acessions in 1844 and 1846. |
