Schellersheim, Baron Friedmann Heinrich Christian von (1752-1836)

From the the family Schellhass zu Schellersheim. Prussian councillor and art collector Friedmann Heinrich Christian von Schellersheim in Rinteln, who in c. 1800 resided in Florence (where he did excavation at the theatre).

Purchase of Greek and Roman coins at the Schellersheim auction by the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1827 (on 24 February by order of the Ministry of 4. January 1827).

The collection was described in around 1800: Numismata aurea antiqua indubitatae fidei familiarum, Augustorum, Augustarum, et Caesarum ad Heraclium usque, quae collegit et possidet Liber Baro de Schellersheim. Compare D. Sestini, Lettere V (1804) with copper plates.

According to P. P. Adler's notes in his copy of the catalogue the Schellersheim collection did include coins of the Quintus Icilius (Guichard) Collection.
