Quintus Caecilius Metellus Scipio Pius (-46 v. Chr.) |
Consul in 52 BC. Govenor of the province of Asia in 49/48 BC. His name appears in Latin on cistophors iussued in Pergamum/Mysia in 49/48 BC, always in comination with his title of imperator. Proconsul in Syria, imperator as of 49 BC. He committed suicide near Hippo Regius following the defeat at Thapsus in 46 BC. See RRC nos. 459-461 bearing his name and title of imperator. Lit.: W. E.
