Armenian. Famous collector in Constantinople in the second half of the 19th century. Alischan was one of the sources for the collection of Anton Prokesch von Osten (Alischan being his numismatic 'correspondent'), of Friedrich Imhoof-Blumer, Arthur Löbbecke, and A. D. Mordtmann.
