	Coin collector and archaeologist. From 1850 to 1863 director of excavations in the region of Mount Vesuvius. The collection of Principe San Giorgio at Neaples. Sold by Rollin 13 May 1869, and Sothebys 5-6 April 1869. Coins were acquired for the Münzkabinett Berlin from him directly and later together with other collections. Lit.: M.
