Lachentris, Hans the Younger

Hans (Johannes) Lachentris (or Lachentries, Lachendreß) the Younger.

Mintmaster in Peine (Bishopric Hildesheim) in 1619.

Son of the mintmaster Hans Lachentris the Elder. From 1 January 1619 to 18 December 1619 mintmaster for the bishop of Hildesheim in Peine. He had to pay 700 Reichstaler rent per year for the mint. Lachentris's coins were of so poor a quality that he was threatened with a penalty of 400 Talers if those coins would enter circulation. He was finally dismissed on 18 December 1619.
