Lang, Joseph Nikolaus (08.02.1776 - 20.05.1835) |
Austrian medalist and die-engraver. Born 1776 in Innsbruck. Lang studied under Johann Hagenauer at the Academy of Fine Arts. Appointed Chief Engraver at the k.k. Hauptmünzamt (Imperial an Royal Central Mint) in 1828. His works include a portrait plaque of Archduke Ferdinand from before 1822. Lang died in Vienna in 1835. Lit.: A. Mayr, Kaiser Ferdinand I.
