Englischer Händler in Smyrna. Münz- und Antikensammler. Betätigte sich auch als Ausgräber. Wechselte nach kaufmännischem Scheitern 1841 an das Britische Museum. Dort als Assistent im Departemant of Antiquities von 1844 bis zu seinem Tod 1858 beschäftigt. |
