Arditi, Marchese Michele (12.09.1746 - 23.04.1838) |
Lawyer, antiquarian, archaeologist, and composer. Created Marchese in 1797. Since 1807 in charge of excavations at Pompeji. Director of the Museum at Naples and superintendent of excavations. Appointed genereal director in 1817. Marchese Arditi from Naples donated a collection of 600 coins and 17 weights to the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1832. Lit.: Pinder (1851) p.
