Prussian Major General August Rühle von Lilienstern. Rühle von Lilienstern's collection was purchased by the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1842 for 3,500 Talers. It comprised more than 6,000 coins of the Medieval period, and an additional 1,400 ancient ones. The collection had been deposited in the Coin Cabinet since 1837. Lit.: Pinder (1851) p. XXIX; J.
