Textilfabrikant in Fazeley, Straffordshire. Mitglied des Parlaments für Tamworth mit Unterbrechungen von 1790 bis 1820. Baronet seit 1800. Ausgabe von Marken 1811 und 1812, unter anderem gemeinsam mit Harding. Er war der Vater des späteren Premierminister Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Baronet. Lit.: W. J.
